Recently, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group will build a factory for production of new energy vehicles for London taxi companies in London, mainly for the production of the next generation pure electric taxis and ultra-low emission taxis. It is reported that Geely Holding Group will invest 250 million pounds (about 2.3 billion yuan), the new plant annual design capacity will reach 36,000 units, is expected to put into operation in 2017. Upon completion of the new plant, the original TX4 model will not be produced and will be the upgraded TX5 model to meet the new requirements of the City of London on taxi emissions. Prior to this, the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, announced a plan to require all newly added taxis in London City to have zero emission capacity as of January 1, 2018. They actively encouraged the production of pure electric taxis, Electric hybrid vehicles, hope that these vehicles in the city center and some other places with poor air quality, auto-start zero-emission mode.
