Recently, Thales has signed the first contract to provide full lifecycle support for six Multi-Function Radar (MRR) systems on the Royal Norwegian Navy's Skjold class frigates.
The five-year contract with the Norwegian Defense Logistics Organization (NDLO) highlights Thales' good relationship with Norwegian Navy customers. It is reported that the Royal Norwegian Navy purchased six sets of Thales MRR radars for six Skjold-class frigates, together with the ship's self-defense and assessment system, to provide long-range 3D air and sea surveillance for frigates. This is the first time that Thales has received this type of radar contract, providing a reference for future global customers to choose equipment systems.
