In the first seven months of this year, Vietnam imported 1.6 million tons of chemical fertilizers and imported 350 million US dollars. Vietnam plans to import 2.2 million to 2.27 million tons of fertilizer this year, which is far below the level of 4 million tons last year. Vietnam's chemical fertilizers are mainly imported from China, Indonesia, Russia and the Middle East. There are more than 150 chemical fertilizer production enterprises in Vietnam. The average annual production capacity of each company is approximately 500,000 to 1 million tons.
