After Mercedes-Benz lowered the after-sales service price and Land Rover price reduction, on July 26, FAW-Volkswagen Audi announced that it would lower the price of the original parts of the domestically produced models in order to cope with the high-zero "zero ratio" high event that was widely concerned.
The National Development and Reform Commission's Price Supervision and Inspection and Anti-Monopoly Bureau Anti-Monopoly Investigation Office 2 said: "We welcome international car brands like Audi to take the initiative to carry out rectification, and hope that other companies can conduct compliance review of their own business practices. In an interview with the reporter of China Business News, Zhongshi, an analyst in the automotive industry, pointed out that the Chinese auto market is a market with oversupply, and horizontal monopoly competition is difficult to form. At this stage, the country hopes to solve the whole vehicle and spare parts with anti-monopoly. The problem of high is actually not solving the fundamental problem.
Car companies take the initiative to "show weakness"
On July 23, some media reported that the heads of Asia-Pacific regions of many well-known car companies received anti-monopoly investigations by the National Development and Reform Commission's price supervision and inspection and anti-monopoly bureau last week. Law enforcement agencies confirmed that some car companies such as Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz existed. Alleged monopolistic behaviors such as horizontal restrictions, vertical restrictions, and abuse of market dominance will soon result in penalties.
On July 25th, Jaguar Land Rover China responded to the anti-monopoly investigation conducted by the National Development and Reform Commission's price supervision and inspection and anti-monopoly bureau against the domestic automobile industry. This is the first luxury car manufacturer to cut the price sharply against the anti-monopoly investigation.
In fact, from July 1 this year, Mercedes-Benz has clearly clarified and adjusted the price of maintenance services. While providing a uniform, planned and transparent maintenance package, the price of the maintenance menu has dropped by more than 20% compared to the previous package.
On July 26, FAW-Volkswagen Audi also issued an official statement saying that it will actively reduce the price of original spare parts for domestically produced models from August 1st, "the ratio of the sum of parts prices to the sales price of the whole vehicle" (hereinafter referred to as "zero" The overall ratio ") is also reduced. Now Chinese auto manufacturers firmly grasp the flow of original parts (only to the certified 4S shop dealers), and the terminal price (in the case of FAW-Volkswagen, the markup rate is 30%). The person in charge of the above-mentioned circulation association believes that the phenomenon of zero-to-zero ratio of imported cars is still caused by monopolistic behavior, and some brands are even several times higher than foreign countries. “Whether it is a price monopoly or a spare parts monopoly, it is ultimately reflected in the retail price. If the monopoly can be broken, the price will eventually return to normal levels, and the benefit will be consumers.”
Previously, the Ministry of Transport issued the “Guiding Opinions on Soliciting the Transformation and Upgrade of the Automobile Maintenance Industry to Improve Service Quality (Draft for Comment) on the official website, and publicly solicited opinions from the public. Articles 14 and 17 stipulate that the original parts and “homogeneous parts” are encouraged to be freely circulated in the market, and it is hoped that a unified vehicle maintenance record will be established to break the monopoly of the maintenance parts.
However, once the relevant departments start anti-monopoly of parts supply channels, it will seriously affect the vested interests of manufacturers and distributors, and may even have a major impact on the existing 4S shop system. A Beijing-based FAW-Volkswagen dealer said in an interview with the reporter of China Business News that he said: "You can't play like this, you will die when you play."
