The vehicle exhaust emission standard controls the upper limit of the emission of nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and suspended particulates of motor vehicles. Compared with the original national four emission standards, the motor vehicle national five standards further increase emissions. Control requirements, where the limits of nitrogen oxide emissions are strictly 25% to 28%, particulate matter emission limits are 82% strict, and the new indicator of pollutant control - the number of particulate particles - is increased. In addition, the national four standard stipulates that the sulfur content of one kilogram of gasoline is 50 milligrams, while the sulfur content in the national five standard is only 10 milligrams.

From the first country to the fifth country, for each emission standard, the pollutant emissions of a single motor vehicle should be reduced by 30%-50%. According to the notice of the Guangdong Provincial Environmental Protection Department, starting from today, the National Five Standards for Light-duty Gasoline Vehicles will be implemented in the Pearl River Delta region. By July 1 this year, the National Five Standard for Light-duty Gasoline Vehicles will be implemented in the East and West of Guangdong Province. The bus, sanitation and postal industry vehicles in the triangle region implement the national five standard for heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
