The joint venture R&D and production of new energy vehicle power batteries has become a model chosen by many companies abroad, such as Toyota and Panasonic joint ventures, Honda and GS Yuasa joint venture, Nissan and NEC joint venture, Bosch and Samsung SDI joint venture, Hyundai Mobis and A joint venture between LG Chem, a joint venture between Johnson Controls and SAFT France, a joint venture between Daimler and Evonik, and more.

In the new energy vehicle battery industry in China, there are also some joint venture projects. Most of these projects are invested in lithium batteries and their materials, rather than nickel-metal hydride batteries. (See Table 1)

China Automotive Lithium Battery and Materials Joint Venture List

From the time of signing the contract or the timing of the issuance of a capital-fitting announcement, these joint ventures (or intentions) were mainly born in late 2009 and 2010. Its large-scale mass production time will begin in 2011 at the earliest.

Judging from the joint venture's main body, these joint ventures can be roughly divided into the following categories:

1. Joint ventures between vehicle manufacturers and battery and material suppliers. For example, Shanghai Automotive and A123 Systems set up companies in Hong Kong, Chery’s subsidiaries and BenQ Materials.

2. The traditional auto parts suppliers have joint ventures with foreign leading companies for electric vehicle batteries. For example, the universal electric car company and the American Ener1 company.

3. Non-traditional auto parts suppliers and companies without experience in battery manufacturing have joint ventures with domestic companies in battery material technology. For example, Foshan Lighting and Huabei Technology Consulting and Planning Development Co., Ltd., which deals in lithium carbonate and other products, established a joint venture in Qinghai Fozhao Lithium Energy Development Co., Ltd. to extract lithium carbonate, and hopes to expand the production of lithium battery materials and lithium batteries in the future; The listed company also established a joint venture with Hefei Lixin Energy Material Co., Ltd., which produces lithium batteries and materials, to establish Qinghai Fozhao Lithium Electropositive Material Co., Ltd.

4. Non-traditional auto parts suppliers, but companies with experience in non-automobile battery manufacturing, joint ventures with companies, research institutes, or individuals that master batteries or their material technologies. For example, Keli Yuan and Hunan Ruixiang New Material Co., Ltd., National Nanoscience Center, Central South University Asset Management Co., Ltd., and other joint ventures; Solar Creation (China) Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and lithium battery experts Dr. Sun Runguang, Dr. Tang Hao joint venture.

5. Lithium battery joint venture project supported by the government. For example, Shanghai Aerospace Industry Corporation, Shanghai Institute of Space Power Supply, Ningbo Shanshan Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Dazu Laser Technology Co., Ltd. is a joint venture project of Shanghai New High-tech Industrialization Project “New Energy Vehicle Power Lithium-ion Battery Project”. "" Obtained financial support from the Shanghai Minhang District Government.

In addition to the joint venture shown in the table, Vice President of Beijing Automotive Research Institute and Executive Director Lin Yi of Beijing New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. acquired the strategic news conference of Saab Intellectual Property and Independent Brand Passenger Vehicle platform on December 23, 2009. Shang said that BAIC has also established a power battery joint venture, but did not disclose the name of the joint venture partner.

In addition, there are the following potential joint venture projects:

Shanshan Co., Ltd. announced in February 2010 that two Japanese companies, including Toda Industries Co., Ltd. and Itochu Corporation, have signed the "Memorandum on Capital Cooperation and Business Cooperation" for the manufacture of lithium battery cathode materials;

Chongqing Zongshen Power Machinery Co., Ltd. also announced that it signed a "Memorandum of Cooperation" with Boston Battery Co., Ltd. in the United States on May 8, 2010. Both parties agreed to cooperate in the field of power battery packs and power system integration, and plans to cooperate this year. A joint venture will be established before the end of October. However, as of now, the two parties have not yet joint ventures.

Another rumors said that Dalian Holdings intends to jointly manufacture lithium battery systems with Japan’s Sanyo Electric.

Note:

1. Wanxiang signed a joint venture framework agreement with Ener1 in the United States.

2. This article does not include electric vehicle (vehicle) joint ventures such as a joint venture between BYD and Daimler, and a joint venture between BAIC and South Korea's CT&T and SK Energy.

Diallyldimethylaminium Chloride

Diallyldimethylaminium chloride (DADMAC) is a quaternary ammonium salt with the chemical formula (C3H5)2N(CH3)2Cl. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid that is soluble in water and polar solvents.

DADMAC is commonly used as a coagulant and flocculant in water and wastewater treatment, as well as in the paper, textile, and cosmetic industries. It has cationic properties that make it effective in binding with negatively charged particles and colloids, allowing them to be easily removed from water.

DADMAC is also used as a monomer in the production of polydiallyldimethylammonium chloride (PDADMAC), a water-soluble polymer that is used as a flocculant, binder, and conditioning agent in various industries.

While DADMAC is generally considered safe for use in industrial and consumer products, it can be irritating to the skin, eyes, and respiratory system if not handled properly. It is important to follow proper safety precautions when working with DADMAC, including wearing appropriate protective equipment and avoiding direct contact with the skin and eyes.
