Xinhua News Agency, Hanoi, March 4th: The Trade Information Center under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Vietnam recently stated that the daily demand of Chinese companies for importing rubber from Vietnam via the Mang Street port is between 1,000 and 1,500 tons. However, the daily supply of Vietnam is approximately 700-800 tons can only meet half the demand.
The information center said that Vietnamese rubber's export price to China has now risen to 19,700 yuan (about 2,773 US dollars) per ton, which is the highest level in the past 16 months and is expected to continue to rise in the future. Vietnam's rubber export markets include China, South Korea, the United States, Japan and Germany.
Vietnam plans to increase its rubber planting area to 700,000 hectares by 2010. Last year, Vietnam exported 71.719 million tons of rubber and earned export revenue of 1.4 billion US dollars.
