The methanol plant with an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons in the ethylene plant adopts a natural gas low-pressure methanol synthesis process. In 2009, with the commencement of production of the 1 million-ton ethylene plant of Dushanzi Petrochemical, the exhaust gas of the ethylene plant was surplus, the low-pressure methane and ethylene fuel gas of the ethylene plant in the old district had no direction, and the reform gas discharge torch was used after the transformation of the hydrogen plant; the ethylene plant in the old district After the spent alkali was sent to the ethylene in the new area, the spent alkali oxidation unit was shut down. The carbon dioxide from the glycol plant was surplus and was discharged into the atmosphere.
In order to reduce the loss caused by tail gas emissions, combined with the characteristics of the methanol plant production process, the plant has built a recycling facility that operates at full capacity, thus reducing the amount of low-pressure methane, fuel gas, and analytical gas that the ethylene plant emits to the flare each year by approximately 39.9 million cubic meters. The meter, meanwhile, can reduce about 4.62 million cubic meters of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
The implementation and application of the exhaust gas comprehensive utilization project enabled the four tail gas of the ethylene plant to be fully recovered and utilized, and eliminated the contradiction of the methanol plant's shortage of equipment due to the shortage of natural gas supply. After the methanol raw material was changed, the natural gas consumption dropped to zero. Annual savings of 29.82 million cubic meters of natural gas, the annual cost savings of 31.13 million yuan, creating considerable economic benefits.
