Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli said recently that it plans to invest 200 million U.S. dollars (146 million euros) in Brazil to produce radial tires for trucks and buses. The investment is expected to be completed in 2015. A spokesperson for the company said that the tires were already being produced at the St. Andre in Sao Paulo and Gravadai in Rio Grande do Sul. According to estimates, the 2014 Series 01 radial tires will be widely used in South America. The company also said that the new tires will reduce fuel consumption by 2%.
