According to statistics, the fuel consumption of drilling power machinery accounts for more than 20% of drilling costs. Oil drilling is generally in remote areas, transportation is inconvenient, drilling power is difficult to transport diesel, and most oil fields have ready-made natural gas. As power, there is almost no cost, and only need simple treatment to meet the needs of the engine. . Therefore, it is urgent to develop diesel and natural gas dual-fuel engines suitable for oil drilling rigs. The use of abundant natural gas resources in the oil field instead of diesel as fuel for power machinery is an effective way to reduce drilling costs and obtain greater economic benefits.
It is understood that all units of PetroChina will gradually transform the rigs with conditional application of natural gas engines, replacing diesel engines with dual-fuel engines, and achieving the goal of significantly reducing drilling costs. The technology is stable, mature and reliable, and will further expand the international drilling rig power market. In addition to being mainly used for drilling power in rich gas fields, diesel and natural gas dual fuel engines can also provide new power equipment for China's fixed power generation, natural gas gathering and transmission compressors and other machinery.
In recent years, diesel and natural gas dual-fuel engines and their generator sets for oil drilling power developed by Shandong Jinan Diesel Engine Co., Ltd., which have always maintained a high level of new product contribution rate, have recently been identified by the China Petroleum System Expert Group. This project fills the gap of high-power dual-fuel engines for drilling above 1000kW at home and abroad.
