The optimization of valve design selection involves many issues such as the choice of valve type, the design and manufacture of the valve itself, and the selection of valve materials. The Zen-type flat gasket seal is a flat gasket installed in a closed groove, this structure on the sealing surface, can produce a high sealing specific pressure, usually far beyond the yield limit of the gasket material, thus ensuring Reliable sealing. It is suitable for medium and high pressure valves with a pressure greater than or equal to 4.0 MPa. The disadvantage of this sealing structure is that when the valve is disassembled, the gasket is difficult to remove from the sealing groove, and if it is hard to remove, it will often damage the gasket.

Concave and flat gasket seal is to install the flat gasket on the sealing surface of the concave-convex flange. Compared with the gutter type flat gasket sealing structure, it has the following advantages:

(1) When the valve is disassembled, the gasket is easily removed; (2) Since the sealing groove is stepped, the processing performance is better.

Flat gasket material, according to process parameters and fluid properties, can choose aluminum, copper, 1Cr18Ni9Ti and rubber asbestos board. Fluoroplastics are also commonly used as gasket sealing materials, but due to their cold flow properties, improper design of the sealing structure will lead to undesirable consequences.

The "O"-shaped sealing ring has a simple structure and is easy to manufacture. As long as the sealing structure is designed properly, it can produce enough radial extrusion deformation after assembly, and it can be sealed without axial loading. Therefore, it is used as a flange. Connecting the seal reduces the structural size of the flange and thus reduces the weight of the valve.

For low-pressure, small-diameter valves, in order to reduce the size and weight of the valve body, the valve body is generally internally threaded, and the sealing element at the connection can also be a flat gasket or "O"-shaped sealing ring.

Valve stem leakage countermeasure

The valve stem is an important force component in the valve. The valve stem material must have sufficient strength and toughness, be able to resist corrosion of media, atmosphere and fillers, scratch resistance, and good process performance. In order to improve the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of the stem surface, the surface should generally be reinforced. At present, most of the materials used in the production of valve stems are martensitic stainless steels, but the crevice corrosion resistance of these stainless steels is weak.
