First, establish your own configuration and speed up the drawing process

1 Create your own template file

You can create a file yourself, change all the settings, and save it. Each time you want to create a new file, open the template file and save it as your desired file name. This way, you don't have to change your settings every time.

2 Create Your Own Default File In many cases, the above method does not work. For example, your SBF file is somewhere, or your pattern file is somewhere. Or your printer's settings and so on. A better way is to modify the default configuration file or create your own default configuration file.

Second, the setting and use of floors

Many people never use layers, and they will not need to blank things out. Others abused layers. They opened many layers and they did not know which layer to put on. In fact, being a planner and developing good habits is very beneficial to your charting. Most companies have mapping standards that specify what is placed on which level. We recommend this
1-29 layer put solid
30-49 layer put sketch, each sketch put a layer.
50-59 layer datum data plane and data axis
60-99 layer put curve and other necessary objects
100-149 layers on other temporary objects
150-199 layer spare
200-249 layers belong to the cartographic scope layer
250-256 reserved for it
1. Layers can be named and classified. In order to facilitate memory and facilitate modification by others, layers can be named and classified. At first, it is inconvenient to use it, you will find it's benefits, especially when developing large parts.
2, the floor can be a map.
Sometimes, when you export a map, you need to close something in one layer. For example, if you want to open the cover of the cylinder, you will see a top view. Or in some large assembly, you only need to display the contents of a layer.
3, close the non-working layer, speed up the display speed In order to speed up the display speed, you can usually turn off unnecessary layers. Sometimes you also need to turn some views off and set it to inactive
In general, the larger the assembly, the more important the layer. So you have to develop good habits.

Third, the drawing drawn with curve also uses assembly

Typically, assembly is used on an entity. But in specific cases, the drawings drawn by curve sometimes need to be assembled. For example, our steam turbine assembly drawing uses curve.
In order to avoid re-drawing the rotor and other drawings inside, at the same time, it is necessary to ensure that several drawings are simultaneously modified. The assembly can be used to output the rotor inside. Why not use other methods? Because other methods have disadvantages. For example, some of us use the methods mentioned above, or use different sheet methods, or use export to generate new files. But no one method is correct.

Fourth, after assembly, but also processing, how to do

Sometimes we have rough drawings, or we have post-weld machining that needs to be processed after assembly. What should I do at this time? UG has dealt with this, there is a function specifically for this setting, which is promotion. Before doing promote, you must modify your default file ug_metric.def (or ug_english.def, depending on which one you use), change the Assemblies_AllowInterPart and Assemblies_AllowPromotions to yes, otherwise you cannot use promotion.

Fifth, reasonable modeling

This problem is too big to clarify. I often see some people building a model only took a week, but it took two weeks for the change to change, and I had to delete the redo. Sometimes the model is changed and the map cannot be updated. This is not a problem with UG, but it is caused by humans.
In order to facilitate the modification and reduce the capacity of large assembly, my suggestion is:
1, try not to transform copy entity, but with instance
2, try to use sketch
3, try to use features such as boss pad hole slot

How to convert metric documents

Start UG, open UG part file, enter Modeling.
Toolbox->Expression->export produces the name.exp file.
Start->Program->Unigraphics V1x.0->UG Command Prompt
Cd d:\ugs150(eds140)\ugii
Ug_convert_part 杋n (-mm) name.prt
Close UG part file, reopen UG part file. Enter Modeling.
Toolbox->Expression->Import with option(Replace Existing)

Seven, how do not cut the shaft

1. Select assemblies->change work part. Let the part to be processed be the current working part.

2, select the menu arrange->attributes->part attributes
3. A dialog box appears. Select "Assign" as follows:
4. Enter the part attribute name "section-component":
5. Enter the part attribute value "NO":
After this setting, the part will not be cut in the assembly section view. If you want to cut, just change the value of the part attribute from "NO" to "YES".
